The Medieval era, also known as the Middle Ages, is a period of history that lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It is characterized by the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the rise of Christianity, and the growth of feudalism. Fun facts:

  • The Crusades, a series of holy wars fought between Christians and Muslims, took place during the Medieval period.
  • The bubonic plague, also known as the Black Death, devastated Europe in the 14th century, killing an estimated 75-200 million people.
  • The medieval feudal system organized society into lords and serfs, with lords granting land to vassals in exchange for loyalty and military service.
  • During the Medieval era, the concept of chivalry, a code of conduct for knights, emerged and became an important aspect of medieval culture.
