   I am a military miniature collector with a college degree in World History. I recently purchased the model Byzantine Greek fire thrower by Speira and was very impressed with it in so many ways. Most importantly is the fact that this important military super weapon has finally been produced for collectors ! The Byzantine Empire was one of the most important in all of world history. The Eastern Roman Empire or Byzantine Empire preserved the best of western civilization thru the fall of Rome and the following "Dark Ages". The Byzantine Empire was able to do this because of it's military might and this secret fire throwing weapon. Yet no other maker of military miniatures or even toy soldiers has attempted to make this fire throwing weapon until now. Speira's model Greek fire thrower is both very reasonably priced and beautifully made! Finally, it's design is very historically correct because it conforms to the limited and rare descriptions we have of this secret weapon with it's siphon and piston action. This model is a must have for all military miniature collectors especially those interested in important military weapons and the armies of the Roman and Byzantine Empires !
